Hi everyone! Long time no see!
皆さーん、お久しぶりです！イブです♡

On Tuesdays I have my toddler class in Fujieda. They’re soooo cute I could melt!
毎火曜日、藤枝スタジオでちびっ子クラスあります。とけるほど可愛いー。

But they’re not just cute – they are so smart, too!
でも可愛いだけではなく、その上、頭もいい！

Even though they are all only 3, they can answer lots of introductory questions in English. ちびっ子達はまだまだ３歳だけど、英語で色々な質問が答えられます。
What’s your name? お名前は？
How are you? 元気？
How old are you? 何歳？
Do you like ~ ? ＯＯが好き？

 

‘How are you’ and ‘How old are you’ sound very similar, so how did I teach them the difference?? 英語で「元気？」と「何歳」はよく似てるので、違いをどうやって教えてあげたんだろう？？

 

… With gestures! ジェスチャーで！

 

‘What’s your name?’ – Put your hand on your chest and say ‘I am OO!’ 「お名前は？」：手を胸に。「私はＯＯ！」

 

‘How are you?’ – Cross your hand over to the opposite shoulder and say ‘I’m fine!’ 「元気？」：手を反対の肩に。「元気！」

 

‘How old are you?’ – Hold up as many fingers as your age and say ‘I’m OO!’ 「何歳？」：年と一緒の指数を上がる。「私はＯＯ！」

 

‘Do you like ~’ – For yes, give me a thumbs up.
For no, give me a thumbs down (it’s not rude at all in western countries!)
「ＯＯが好き？」 「好き！」の場合：サムズアップ！（親指を立てる）
「嫌」の場合：サムズダウン！（親指を下がる）（西洋で失礼ではありません！）

 

The last question is always ‘Do you like J-kun gorilla??’ (J-kun’s impression of a gorilla!) 最後の質問はいつもと同じ：「Ｊ君ゴリラー好き？」（Ｊ君のゴリラーのまね）。

They always laugh and say ‘NO!!’ and I high five them for doing so well. 笑顔で大きい声で「嫌！」。っで、よく答えられたから、ターチッ！
