おうちイングリッシュ＃12「準備できた？」

Summer is almost here and it’s getting warmer and warmer.
夏が近づいてきたね！日に日に暑くなってきてるね。↑BBカードの♠︎にあるフレーズだ！
I’m looking out of the window, it looks like a perfect day to go out, but it’s so hot!
家の中から外を見るだけなら、出かけようかなって思う日も、外に出てみると暑いんだよねー。
But our children don’t care; they just want to get out and have fun!
でも、子供たちには関係ない！こんなに暑くても元気に外で遊んじゃうね。

Here in our house there are always so many things to do before going to the park.
こんな暑い天気だと、公園などに遊びに行くときは、いろいろ準備が必要ですよね。

Here are “some” of the things that I tell my daughters before we go out!
今回は、いつもJくんが娘たちに言っている、そのうちのほんのいくつかをご紹介。

⑴”Have you been to the toilet?”「トイレは済ませた？」

If we’re driving anywhere, one of them will need to go the toilet! It always happens.
車でどこかに出かけるときは、娘2人のうち必ず1人は「トイレ行きたい」と言います。
So we’ve learnt that this is an important question, to make sure we don’t have to stop anywhere.
そう、だからこの質問はかなり重要だと学んだよ。どこかで車を止めないためにね。

⑵”Have you put on sunscreen?” 「日焼け止め、ぬった？」

We’re all so white, and forgetting sunscreen can be a painful mistake…… even me!
日焼け止めを忘れたら大変なことになるよね！
Putting on sunscreen has become a habit in our house!
だから我が家では日焼け止めクリームは習慣付けています。

⑶”Have you got your hat?”「帽子は持った？」

All kids here in Japan should wear a hat when they go out on sunny days! Most mums do!
日本の子どもたちは、晴れの日はみんな帽子をかぶらなきゃだよね！もちろんママたちも！
I’ve heard that in Australian schools, children in Elementary school are not able to play outside without wearing a hat.
オーストラリアの学校では、帽子をかぶらないと外で遊んではいけないという決まりがあるって聞いたことがあるよ。

⑷”Have you got your flask?”「水筒持った？」

When it’s hot kids still love to run around. It’s important that they drink enough to keep them hydrated.
どんなに暑くても、子どもたちは走るのが大好き。水分補給が大事！
If we forget our flask, it usually means that we have to buy a soft drink from a vending
machine.
もし水筒を忘れたら、自動販売機で買わないとね・・・
In my opinion, remembering to take a flask filled with tea and ice is a better option.
僕としては、水筒をいつも冷た〜いお茶を入れておくことが1番の選択肢だと思うね☆

These are just a few of our Smith summer habits when going out during the summer.
今紹介したのは、スミス家の、夏外出するときの習慣のほんの一部。
I always ask the same questions to my daughters.
でも僕は娘たちにいつも同じ質問をしているよ。
Sometimes they answer before I have even finished!!
ごくたまに、娘たちは、僕が聞く前に終わらせてることがあって、そのときは嬉しいね！
