This is a quick game which we can play either in the house or outside.
今日はおうちでも外でも簡単にできるゲームを紹介します。

 

One problem which we may face when playing games in English at home is our children might not know the names of different objects.
まず、家庭で英語を使って遊ぶときに出てくる問題の一つとして、子どもたちがまだ知らない単語があるということですよね。

One option is to label everything, but that’s not an option which a lot of people get excited about.
全ての物に名前を貼り付けちゃうっていう手もあるけど、それはやりたくない人も多いよね。

Instead it’s easier just encourage children to review the words which they do know.
それよりも、子どもたちが今まで習ってきた単語を復習した方が有意義。

Children know the names of colours in English.
子どもたちは英語でカラーをよく知っています。
It’s one of the first things they learn.
英語を習うときに最初に覚える言葉のひとつだからね。
So why not ask them to find different coloured objects?
それでは、いろんな色を家の中から見つけさせてみたらどうでしょう？

“Find something ……….. green!”
「探してみようー…………緑のもの！」

If they can find something green, give them a point.
もし見つけられたら1ポイント！
However, if they can find something green, and they can say the word in English, give them three points!
さらに、その物の単語を英語で言えたら3ポイント！

Why not set them a challenge before giving them sweets, or snacks?
おやつの前にやるのもいいかも？

“Find something …….. green! If you get more that 10 points, I’ll give you some snacks”.
「探してみよう…緑のもの！10ポイントたまったらおやつー！」
なんて言ってみるのもいいかもね♪

You can use a different colour on different days.
その日ごとに色を決めてやると良いと思います。

You could even find the names of objects which they couldn’t, and teach them some new words.
知らない単語の物を見つけた時は、新しく覚えるチャンス。

This is a simple idea, but children will excited to find different things, and hopefully keen to impress you when they know the names of objects in English!
シンプルなゲームですが、探し物ゲームは子どもたちみんな大好き。
見つけた物を英語でたくさん言って、パパママを驚かせてほしいな！
