Thank you to everyone that came to our picnic at Hop Step Jump English School.
ホップステップジャンプのピクニックに来てくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました。
It was our first big event for more than two years, so we were really happy to see everyone there.
We were so lucky with the weather too. It was sunny in the morning, but when our picnic had finished it started to rain.
ここ2年、イベントを開催できていなかったから、イベントを開催できることがとっても嬉しいことでした。
天候にも恵まれてよかったね。午前中はすっかり晴れていて、なのにピクニックから帰ってきたとたん雨が！とってもラッキー！
This year we invited some new people for you to meet. Did you talk with them? Did you ask them questions? They enjoyed speaking English with you. They were impressed with your English.
今年はネイティブの先生たちの中に、はじめましての人も。
お話しできたかな？質問とかできた？
ネイティブの先生たちはみんなと話ができて楽しかったとおしえてくれたよ。
きみたちの英語力に驚いてた！
We started off the picnic with the Pinocchio Song. We made a big circle; bigger than I thought it would be, and enjoyed dancing together.
ピクニックはピノキオソングからスタート。
おっきな円になって(思ったよりでっかい円になったね！)振り付けも楽しかったね。
The rabbit and Lion game was fun too, right? Everyone looked very cute in their rabbit hats. Did you get caught by a lion? Run, rabbit run rabbit, run, run, run……. the rabbits were so fast that I couldn’t catch anyone.
ラビット＆ライオンゲームも楽しかったよね！みんなラビットのお面かわいかったよ♪
みんなライオンに捕まらなかった？
ラン ラビット、ラン ラビット、ランランラン・・・僕はライオンだったけど、ラビットが速すぎて全然捕まえられなかったよ。
Then we played two more games; first the younger students did the egg and spoon race; and then the older students did the sack race. We asked the students lots of questions. Everyone tried to speak English well. We even asked the mums and dads from Yaizu and Fujieda different questions like when did you get married? When is your daughter’s birthday? They answered well, and it was fun. But jumping in the sacks was difficult for the adults, while students did it easily!
それからゲームをもう2つ。
キッズクラスと小学1年生のエッグスプーンレース。
小学2年生以上のサックレース。
ゲームの間にもいろんな質問ができて良かったよ。みんな英語で頑張って答えようとしてくれていたね。上手だったよ。
お父さんお母さんにはちょっとだけ難しい質問を。「いつご結婚されたの？」とか「娘ちゃんの誕生日はいつ？」とか。答え方上手でした！
麻袋を履いてのジャンプレースは、大人よりも子どもたちの方が簡単そうだったね！笑
What did you have for lunch? Your lunch boxes looked good. Did you eat jelly too? What flavor did you choose? There were peach, grape and orange jellies to choose from. My favorite was orange.
お昼のお弁当の中身はなんだった？みんなのお弁当とってもおいしそうでした。フローズンゼリーはもらえたかな？ピーチ、グレープ、オレンジがあったけど、何味選んだ？僕のお気に入りはオレンジ♪
After lunch we went for a walk, whilst my parents hid the eggs for the next game. Some parents hid the eggs in trees. Those ones were really fun to find. Then the students finished the picnic by answering lots of questions in English to get different kinds of snacks.
お弁当のあとはお散歩に出かけたね。その間にパパママが次のゲーム用にエッグを隠してくれました。木に隠してくれたり、吊るしてくれたり！？探すのがとても楽しかったよね。
英語の質問に答えてお菓子をもらって、ピクニックの終了を迎えました。
It was a really fun picnic. Thank you for coming.
本当に楽しいピクニックになったと思います。来てくれてありがとう。
To mums, dads and staff for the day, thank you for your help throughout the event. We are really grateful for your help.

This year’s picnic was a success.
Thank you for coming to the picnic.
It has been a long time since we did the last picnic.
We wanted to do it last year but because of COVID-19, we waited until this year.
Many people came this year and it was fun.
今年のピクニックも大成功でした。
ピクニックに来てくれたみなさん、ありがとうございました。
コロナの影響でなかなか開催できなかったイベントでしたが、今年はたくさんの方に来てもらえて、楽しく開催できました。
We thought it was going to rain but it did not.
Lucky us!!!
It was cloudy.
It was not too hot!
It was a perfect weather.
雨になっちゃうかなぁと思ったけど、大丈夫でした！ラッキー♪
くもり・暑すぎず・パーフェクトウェザー！
The kids seemed to enjoy the games we played.
I love how the kids interacted with other volunteer teachers.
The volunteer teachers talked to the students in English.
The parents had a chance to play games and speak English, too.
They answered questions well.
子どもたちもゲームを楽しんでくれていました。
子どもたちがネイティブの先生たちと交流しているのが見れて嬉しかった！
ネイティブの先生たちはみんな英語で話しかけていたけど、子どもたちも保護者のみなさんもゲーム中にお話ししていましたね。
The parents made delicious lunch.
Some kids helped their moms in making lunchbox.
They showed some cute rice balls.
おいしいお弁当も作ってきてくれてありがとうございました。
お弁当作りを手伝ってくれた子どもたちもいたみたいですね。
かわいいおにぎり見せてくれました(^^)
We have summer event and Halloween events this year and we are looking forward to seeing you again next time!
これから夏やハロウィンのイベントも考案中！次のイベントでまたみんなに会えるのが楽しみです！
