I’ve got some huge news this week!
今週はビッグニュースがあります！
I’m going to achieve one of my goals of visiting the UK with some Hop Step Jump students.
生徒たちとイギリスに行くという夢！をついに決行！！
When we first started our English school, I always said that it would be great to take some students to the UK for a trip.
ホップステップジャンプ！英語教室を開講したときから、生徒たちをイギリスに連れて行けたらいいなってずっと言っていたんだ。
Over the past few years, there always seemed to be a reason that we couldn’t go. At times it seemed like just a dream, or something that we wanted to do, but would never do.
ここ数年間、いろんな事情が重なってなかなかそれが実現できずにいて、ただの夢に過ぎなかったんだけど…。
However, last year, something happened to one of our students.
それが実現することとなった、ある一人の生徒のお話。
Her own personal trip was cancelled because she was injured playing sports.
体育の授業かなんかでケガをして、旅行に行けなくなっちゃった子がいたんだ。
When Tomi and I visited her at home, we said jokingly “Don’t worry too much, maybe we can go the UK together next year”.
奥さんのTomiとその子の家にお見舞いに行って、冗談っぽいかんじで「大丈夫だよ、来年いっしょにイギリス行けばいいよ！」って言ったんだよね。
When we got home that day, I think Tomi and I had already decided.
でもその日家に帰ってきたときには、Tomiも僕ももう決めていたね。
We were going to think of a way to get to the UK with students, sooner rather than later.
遅かれ早かれ、生徒たちとイギリスに行く方法を考え始めなきゃって。
So we made a plan and asked if students were interested.
それから計画を練り始めて、興味のある子たちを募ったんだ。
We managed to find students, and we have planned a tour to the UK together.
練り練りミーティングをして、イギリス行きの計画をいっしょに練ってきたよ。
We’re going to stay in London; visit some famous sights; see a musical; take a cooking class; eat fish and chips, and do so much more!!
ロンドンに宿泊予定。有名どころに行ったり、ミュージカルを見たり、クッキングクラスを受けたり、イギリスの代表的な料理のフィッシュ&チップスを食べたり…いろーんなことを経験してくるつもりだよ。
We’ll go shopping together in the biggest toy store in the UK, where they’ll have the chance to buy lots of things.
イギリスで最も大きなおもちゃ屋さんにも行く予定。ほしいものが買えるんじゃないかな。
I’m really excited to show the students around London.
生徒たちにロンドンの街並みを紹介するのがすごく楽しみ。
I just hope it doesn’t rain!
