We have come to the end of another year.
年度末となりました。
Students are on spring vacation.
こどもたちはみんな春休みに入っていますね。
I am happy to share some achievements the students have made.
何が嬉しいって、子どもたちがとっても成長したことをお見せできること。
The first graders reading improved a lot.
They can read “CVC” words like “cat, dog, bat, pet”.
1年生たちは読むのがとっても上手になりました。
1文字を繋げて読むフォニックス、例えば“cat, dog, bat, pet”などが読めます。
At first, it was challenging to remember the individual phonics sounds but because of pictures and gestures, they were able to remember by heart how to read English words.
最初は1年生たちにとって難しいんじゃないかなって思っていたんだけど、絵とかジェスチャーを使って覚えて、頭の中で考えながら単語を読めるようになりました。
The young elementary students can remember vocabularies well like foods, animals, classroom English, and especially greetings.
小学校低学年の子たちは、語彙力がとてもつきました。
特にあいさつは完璧。
For example, when students come into the lesson room, we say “Hi!” to them and ask “How are you?”. I’m always happy when they say “I’m great!”, “I’m happy!”, “I’m sleepy.”, “I’m tired”. I am more impressed when students ask back “How are you?”.
例えば、子どもたちがレッスンルームに入ってくる時、講師たちが”Hi, how are you?”と聞くと、
“I’m great!”, “I’m happy!”, “I’m sleepy.”, “I’m tired”
などが返ってきて、さらに“How are you?”って返してくれることもあって、いつも嬉しくなります。
The older students passed Eiken this year as well!
小学校高学年の子たちは、英検に合格した子たちがたくさんいました。
Since they started in Hop Step Jump, they were just enjoying playing games while learning at the same time. They become familiar with English pronunciation so it makes them very good at listening part of the test.
ホップステップジャンプで英語を学び始めてから、子どもたちはゲームを楽しむことと同時進行で英語を学んでいます。
英語を発音することが当たり前であるようになっているので、リスニングテストが大得意。
For accuracy, the students study grammar with Masumi and that helps them a lot in other parts of the test.
Masumiといっしょに文法面を強化して、リーディングライティングにも臨んでいました。
There are students who have been with us for a long time but they have to graduate.
We are happy to see how much they have improved from learning colors to learning difficult English sentences.
長く通ってくれている子もいるけれど、卒業する子もいて。
T-kun joined our baby class and now he is a Junior highschool student. He is one the bests in his class. He can remember English words and grammar very well. The best thing about him is he is not afraid to make mistakes. That is how people learn English.
Tくんはベイビークラスからホップステップジャンプに来ていて、もう今年中学生。一番よくできる子の1人。
英単語も英文法もしっかり理解しています。
でも彼の一番良いところは、間違いを恐れないこと。
英語を学ぶ上で重要なことじゃないかなって思います。
We are looking forward to another year of fun English learning!
