This year’s spring vacation was special.
今年の春はとてもスペシャルでした。
Hop Step Jump English School went to Australia.
J-kun and I went with twelve students.
Jくんと私、それから12名の生徒でオーストラリアへ！
From Tokyo we flew to Brisbane and took the train to Cleveland.
We stayed in Cleveland.
東京からブリスベンのフライト、滞在先のクリーブランドまで電車で。
It is a very peaceful town and people were very nice to the students.
とても素敵な街で、生徒たちが行くのに最適なところだったと思います。
When I asked the kids what they think about Australian people, they said people in Australia are taller than Japanese.
生徒たちにオーストラリアの人々のイメージを聞いてみると、オーストラリアの人たちは日本人より背が高いって言っていました。
It must be scary for them to talk to foreign people other than HSJ teachers so I am very impressed to see them have interaction with people in Australia.
外国の人と会話するのは、HSJの先生たちと会話するより難しいことだったと思うけれど、こどもたちがオーストラリアの人たちと触れ合っているところが見られて感動しちゃった。
They did self-checkout by themselves and sometimes they needed help from staff in the supermarket. They looked confident!
お店でも自分でレジで買い物をしたりして、時々店員さんの手助けを借りたり。不安そうな顔は全然見られなかったです。
When they ordered food and drinks, they had chance to talk to foreign people. It was a little scary at first but the students did it!
飲食も自分でオーダーし、外国の方と会話するチャンスがたくさんありました。最初は恐る恐るだったけど、生徒たちがんばりましたよ！
We tried so many Australian foods like meat pie, Australian beef burger, meat lasagna, fish and chips, gelato, and snacks which are really good!
オーストラリアの食べ物もいっぱい食べました。ミートパイ、オーストラリアビーフバーガー、ミートラザニア、フィッシュアンドチップス、ジェラート、お菓子も。全部おいしかったよ。
We tried McDonald’s in Australia as well. The taste is different from McDonald’s here in Japan. We ate very delicious burgers after our Story bridge climb in Brisbane city.
オーストラリアのマクドナルドも。日本のマクドナルドの味と全然違うの。
ブリスベンのストーリーブリッジに行った後に食べたマクドナルドのハンバーガーとってもおいしかった！
One of my favorite parts of the trip was holding a Koala. Koalas are so cute and they were like babies! They like to eat and sleep, and they are really being taken care of in the zoo. The zookeepers are very cool, I thought! They know a lot about animals.
今回の旅の好きなところの１つは、コアラ抱っこ。赤ちゃんみたいにかわいかったです！
食べることと寝ることが大好きで、動物園でとっても大事にされているみたい。飼育員さんたちがとてもクール！動物の知識がとても豊富でした。
